VIKTOR LIPOVKA
The People’s Artist of Ukraine, the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Viktor was born in 1956 in Chernihiv region. From 1971 to 1974 he studied at the Republican Art High School, Department of Sculpture in Kyiv. From 1974 to 1980 he studied at the Kyiv State Art Institute, Department of Sculpture. Teachers: I. Makohon, V. Chepelyk, V. Suhenko, V. Shvetsov, V. Borodai.
From 1981 to 1985 he was a postgraduate student at the creative workshops of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, and since 1978 he has been participating in art exhibitions. In 1983, he became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1983, he has been participating in international and All-Ukrainian art exhibitions, symposia, conferences, and auctions.
Over the years, he has received numerous recognitions and awards, including a diploma of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1985), the title of Honoured Artist of Ukraine (1999), a diploma of the National Rating “Brand of the Year 2005” and “People’s Artist of Ukraine” (2017). In 2018, he received an award from the Kyiv Organisation of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine named after Mykola Lysenko.
Viktor is the author of more than 15 monumental monuments and garden compositions in Ukraine and abroad. His works are in 26 museums around the world, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, Sweden, France, the USA, Switzerland, and the UAE. Viktor works in easel, park and monumental sculpture. He prefers such sculptural materials as bronze, granite and marble.
OLEXANDRA RUBAN
The Honoured Artist of Ukraine, the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Olexandra was born in 1956 in Kyiv in the family of the animist sculptor Yurii Ruban. From 1968 to 1974, she studied at the Republican Art High School, Department of Sculpture. From 1975 to 1981 she studied at the Kyiv State Art Institute, Department of Sculpture. Teachers: I. Makohon, V. Shvetsov, V. Borodai.
From 1986 to 1989 she was a postgraduate student at the creative workshops of the USSR Academy of Arts. Since 1978 she has been participating in art exhibitions, and in 1985 she became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1990, she has participated in international and All-Ukrainian art exhibitions, symposia, conferences and auctions.
In 2003-2004, Oleksandra was a resident at the Cité des arts internationales in Paris. In 2011, she was awarded the prize “For a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian fine arts”, and in 2014 she was recognized at the All-Ukrainian Triennial “Sculpture 2014”. She has received prestigious awards such as the medal “For Sacrifice and Love for Ukraine” (2017) and the title “Honoured Artist of Ukraine” (2017). In 2018, she received an award from the Kyiv Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine named after Mykola Lysenko.
In 2020, together with Viktor Lipovka, she restored the sculptures of her father, Yurii Ruban, “Bison” and “Lions” for the renovated entrance to the Kyiv Zoo. Oleksandra is the author of 7 monumental compositions in Ukraine and Sweden. Her works are in 14 museums around the world, private collections in Ukraine, Sweden, France, the USA, Switzerland, Great Britain, Germany, and Israel. Her work encompasses easel, park and monumental sculpture. She prefers such sculpture materials as bronze, granite, marble, and wood.
